59 and FABULOUS! Birthday card made using Martha Stewart Season Cake Art cartridge!

Hello, friends!

I am starting to run out of steam! Good thing I am going on a quasi vacation at the end of the week. Between my tests, getting ready to go, and general blogging stuff my cup runneth over! Wish me luck on my Econmics test that I have today though. It is not my strong suit! My husband thinks that is not surprising considering how much scrapbooking things I buy. He says I have no concept of money! The nerve *wink*

Today's card is made using the Martha Stewart Season Cake Art cartridge. I made this for my Mother-In-Law's birthday. I need to get it in the mail soon too because she lives in England and it takes FOREVER for things to get there.

The paper is from Close To my Heart as is the ribbon.
I cut '59' out at 3/4".
The stamp is from Papertrey Ink.
The 'top note' shape is a spellbinders die that I made using my cuttlebug. I cut it in half and used half on the outside of the card and the other half on the inside!

Don't forget that I am drawing winners tomorrow for my Hello Thursday giveaway! Be sure to check back in to see if you won!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Love ya heart flower card made using Give A Hoot.

Hello, friends!

I hope you are all having a great week so far! I did some craft room reorganization yesterday, so maybe someday soon I will do a video of my room. No promises though. I just feel that it can be a little braggy when people show off their rooms(although mine is nothing special). I always think that those who scrapbook from their kitchen tables because they have limited space might get annoyed. I could be totally off though. Making people feel bad is just not what my blog is about. This is supposed to be a happy care-free zone. Let me tell you, I could totally use some happy and care-fee about now.....

This card is made using the Give a Hoot cartridge and one of my Nestibility sets. I am so glad I found this cut. I love it!!
I used We are Memory Keepers paper.
i cut the heart flower(page 60 in the handbook) out at 2".
I used Hero Arts stamps.
The ribbon is from SU!
I layered the Cricut cut on a die from Spellbinders using my cuttlebug.
Have a FABULOUS Tuesday!!

Octopus card made using the Splish Splash Cricut lite cartridge

Hello, friends!!

Well, Friday is finally here and it is a holiday weekend! Do you guys have anything fun planned? I do! I am going to 'Freedom Fest' out at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls Texas. I am so excited because my son is going to love all the festivities, but you can't beat a Saturday around a bunch of men in uniform! Now that is my idea of a good time ;-) If any of you are in the area come check it out. I will be the one in the big floppy hat and the pig tails.

Ok, now on to the card...

I made this purple gem using the Splish Splash Cricut Lite cartridge. This cartridge is lots and lots of fun! It is another favorite of the new release. In fact this little octopus spoke to me when I saw it. For some reason it made me think of Jacques Custeau.

I cut this octopus at 3 1/4". Then I sugared him. Which is just a fun way to say glittered ;-)

UPDATE: glittering/sugaring paper is so easy. All you have to do is run your object upside down in your xyron(if you don't have one you should get one. They sells them at all craft stores including Walmart) then pour glitter on top of your item. The xyron will distribute the adhesive evenly so you will get full glitter coverage!

I also sugared the sentiment which is stamped on a nestibility cut out. I love this die!

Most of the supplies used to make this card are papertrey ink except for the actual card base which is Core'din ations.

I hope you all have a fun and safe Independence Day! Enjoy your family and friends!!

You're my cup of tea!

Hello, everyone!

I hope you are all having a great week. I am having a very busy one. I have 2 exams this week at school. One of the classes I am taking this semester is College Algebra. Let me tell you, it is tough going back to college with a 15 year gap. Last semester was not that bad, but this semester I am taking Algebra. That makes all the difference. I really hate math...really really hate it! Good thing my husband has a math degree, my friend Tom has multiple math related degrees, and Joy is an engineer! Thanks goodness for smart friends! This is another good reason to surround yourself with people smarter than you. They can always teach you something.

The card I have for you today is a card that I made using the Labels 9 Nestibilities dies and my copic markers.

After running my nestiblity die through my cuttlebug. I left the die in place on the paper and then used my Copic airbrush system to airbrush the die. The good thing about leaving your die on the paper is it leaves that nice crisp white border around the the edge.

I then stamped and colored with my copics this adorable Unity stamp. Then I cut it out and adhered it to the airbrushed paper. I could have avoided this step if I would have masked the area, but I found it easier to stamp on another sheet of paper and cut it out by hand.

Have a wonderful day!!

Happy Monday!

Hello, everyone!!

I had a chance to make a few things over the weekend that I will be sharing on here this week.

The first thing is a Sympathy card I made for my Sister In Law's friend. I guess I do cards on demand now ;-)

I used the Serenade Cricut cartridge and some Basic Grey Wisteria paper. I really love this line! We are featuring the Serenade cartridge all week over at Christmas with the Cricut and then giving it away on Sunday. Head over there if you get a chance because you are going to want to add this cartridge to your library!

Thanks for stopping by!

Nestibility Peony dies!!!

Hello, everyone!!!! Happy Tuesday!

I have been working so hard on Christmas with the Cricut I have been neglected my blog. Sorry about that. It will get better. I just wanted to be about 3-4 weeks ahead on my projects for over there. I am almost there now. Which reminds me tomorrow is my first post over there. Wednesday is tags and packaging so make sure you check over there tomorrow and see what I have come up with.

Ok now down to what I have actually made for this little blog......I have a card that I have made over the weekend and thought I should photograph it and get it posted!! I have and here the little darlin' is.....

I made the flower with my nestibility Peony dies. I sprayed them with glimmer mists(my new favorite tool), crumpled them up in my hands, and stacked them. The paper I used is the Basic Grey Wisteria.

Card Sketch Wednesday #3

Hello all!

Here is my latest card sketch challenge for the c to shining c MB.

I had a lot of fun making this week's card. I have been wanting to use this stamp set for a while.

I have to confess though. I make my cards before I make the sketch. I can't do it the other way for some reason. Am I alone in this?

All of the supplies are SU and CTMH.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge # 4

This is my first Dawn McVey color challenge I have done. I think she is absolutely brilliant! I follow her blog closely. She has such an eye for color!

Here is my entry. I love these colors together anyway, so this was not a chore what so ever!

My Mother-In-Law went to Holland and got me the cutest little dutch shoes! I love most anything European(particularly French and Dutch things). So, it was a perfect gift!

Here is the card I made for her. I was trying to do a little bit of a shabby chic kind of thing. I love the look of shabby chic.

I used a ton of supplies from different companies....

Cardstock: SU(soft sky), PTI(dark chocolate) and CTMH(white daisy)

Stamps: Treasure Life and Priceless Love(CTMH), sentiment is Verve(it is a plain Jane), the script stamp is from SU (I have no idea the name)

Embellies: SU ribbon(soft sky), Spare Parts Lace, PTI buttons, CTMH crocheted flower and metal accents.

INK: PTI(dark chocolate and aqua mist), SU(soft sky), and Tim Holtz(anitqued linen)

Teacher appreciation week

My DS goes to pre-school and next week is teacher appreciation week. So I made each of his teachers an altered clipboard and a card.

This is the card I made. I used the top note to make the shape of the card. I liked how it turned out, so I will probably use it again.

The stamp set is by PTI.

I love tulips!!

So, when PTI came out with this stamp set last month I *had* to have it. Now I am just now getting around to using it. Which is pretty darn sad because it is an awesome set!!!

All materials used are by PTI except for the blue ink. It is Soft sky by SU.

Hello Sunshine!

I have had this idea ever since I bought the SU paper with the clouds on it. I just kept trying to work it out in my head. So today I gave it a shot. It looks sparse, but I think I like it.

I used SU and doodlebug pattered paper and scrap(yellow) cardstock. The ribbon is HL. The stamps are SU and Verve. The ink is CTMH and PTI.

Valentine treat bags

These are for my son's Valentine party at school. I am the mother in charge of the Valentine party so this is what I made. I will put treats and little toys or something in them.

They are made of white lunch bags that I trimmed and lined the top with ribbon. Then I stamped the one side of the bag and used my spellbinders die for the hearts. The glittery paper is doodlebug. I used my cricut to cut the names on the back of the sack. TFL!

Heritage LO's

I am starting a new book for my mom. It is an album of my great-grandparents. They were French-Canadians who immigrated as teens to the US. These pictures are really neat and my photographs of the LO are terrible. Sorry about that!

Christmas present LO's

If you are an In-law of mine living abroad look away! The rest of you can keep looking ;) Ok, I am making LO's to put in shadow box frames as Christmas gifts. I have finished most of them and have decided to post them. I really doubt more that 1 person(my DH) looks at my blog anyway. So I doubt my in-laws are looking.

This first one is for my BIL who got married in August. Since I did his wedding album I thought he needed something he could hang on his wall too. So this is what I came up with.

Happy Fall!

Well this is a LO I did in between all the Christmas present LO's I have been working on. I have no idea where I got the leaves. I got them for free from some scrapbook site with an order. They are fabulous though!!! I also used core-dinations paper on this and REALLY love it. The texture and color is fabulous!

Ink: SU(pumpkin pie) & CTMH(chocolate and olive)
Paper: Core-dinations and CTMH(colonial white)
Stamps: CTMH(thoughtful Season's & chocolate large)
Embellies: buttons from my stash
Die cuts: Nestibilities(label one) and Cricut(Opposites Attract)

Total slacker!

Ok, I have been so

busy lately. I went to Amarillo for a funeral. My wonderful Great Aunt Ruth passed away. She was something special. She will be greatly missed by so many people! When I found out I had to fly to Amarillo because she had passed, I made some sympathy cards for her children(my 2nd cousins). Here are a few that I made.
