«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 323 of 323My husband and I usually go to a Bed and Breakfast out in a country area to enjoy the quite away from the city, but this year we will be staying home. My husband was diagnoised with brain cancer which is an agressive one. It has effected his right side and he is unable to do the things he used to do. We are praying that the treatments will make the New Year a whole lot better.

New Years Day, the tradition is the Parade of Roses on TV and then football. We just have snacks, no special food. Would love to win Art Nouveau it is without a doubt the most beautiful Cricut Cartridge Provo Craft ever made. Carjo from southern Utah
We don't have any New Year traditions. My husband is an early to bed, early to rise guy, so he goes to bed way before midnight.
The only tradition we have seems to be to take the tree down.
I really love the Art Nouveau and would be thrilled to win it. Then my New Year resolution could be to make lots of cuts with it!
Mari
On New Years day we take down and put away all the Christmas decorations.
Our tradition is to have a bunch of party foods for dinner, Christmas chocolates and cookies, sparkling cider and eat all evening with the kids and play games until midnight when we watch the fireworks at the space needle on TV and then go to bed.
On New Years Day is we watch the Rose Bowl Parade as a family. I hope to one year go to the parade. It is so beautiful and fun!
New years day is a quiet day. We sit around watching all the movies that will be put away til the next year. Then I help prepare getting the grandkids stuff ready to return to school. Lunch boxes, bookbags school shoes all have to be found.

Getting up in the morning and watching the Rose Parade (live, not recorded!). This year I'm going to add donuts and kick back and enjoy...
We usually take down the Christmas tree. Later on we have a meal with invited family and friends. I'm looking forward to seeing the projects that you made using these new cartridges.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this one.

We usually have friends over for games and fellowship. We snack, enjoy the children, and just enjoy the warmth of home and family!

We don't really have a New Years tradition but usually take down the decorations.

Our New Years tradition is to make lots of appetizes to eat as we watch the football games. Kinda the last hurrah before the dieting starts. lol
Our tradition is to take down all the decorations, decide if we need to replace anything and finally put everything away for next year. After that's finished, we watch football be it on tv or the neighbors' children playing in their yard.
I subscribe by email to follow your blog. Thanks for the chance to win this cartridge!
Twinke's Mom....Our tradition is to plan our goals for the year. We have friends and family over for food and stories about the year we just left. On of my main goals for 2012 is to use many of the items that I have acquired in 2011. We don't really have any tradition for New Year's Day except relaxing and watching some football. Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love the Art Philosophy cartridge. My friend has it and lets me use hers but it would be neat to have my own. We don't really have much in the way of a New Year's Day tradition. It's just kind of a lazy day where we get a chance to relax and do what we want or visit my MIL. Since it is on a Sunday this year, we will probably go to the nursing home to visit my husbands aunt too.
Oops! I read that wrong and you are giving away Art Nouveau, not Art Philosophy! Still looks like a good cartridge though.
Thanks for the great giveaway! New Years Day tradition...sleep as late as possible! Just hanging out with the kids playing with new toys.
Our New Year's day tradition is to stay in our pj's all day, watch the Rose Parade, and then put on movies all day. But this year, the boys will probably stay home, and my daughter & I will head to Disneyland with our passes. Should be a great day.
My New Years Tradition is to celebrate the New Year with a big party with our friends and family. We have lots of food and drinks for everyone.
Love the Art Nouveau!
We don't have a New Year's Day tradition (other than sleeping in, unless it's a Sunday). But we have a group of friends who have been getting together at one family's house for probably the last 10 years on New Year's Eve. We look forward to it all year. Everyone potlucks it, and we bring games, and spend the evening playing games and laughing a lot. Then we usually watch the last 15 minutes of Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year and toast each other with sparkling grape juice. It's one of our favorite holiday traditions!
I always have my kids and my brother over for a Pork and Kraut dinner.
sekala45@roadrunner.com
On New Year's Day my husband and I go up to a friends house on the lake and have collards, black eyed peas, fried fat back and cornbread. This has been our New Year's tradition for 8 years.
Actually we are just plain lazy on New Years Day! We get lots of movies and have a movie fest just kicking back and relaxing with family!

Living in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, I have to make Pork, Sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes. It's supposed to bring good luck for the new year. I just think it's yummy!!
Our New's Tradition is to sit home (all safe and sound) and watch all of the New Year's festivities that are on TV. We let the kids stay up late and we just do our own thing and you know what... I kindda like it that way.
I was going to buy myself that cartridge as a Christmas gift but, I passed it up.... maybe it was for a reason...
Thanks for the chance to win,

New years day I watch the Rose Parade and then relax.

We always have our friends over for a new years party! It's great to ring in the new years with our closest friends. :)
Ever since I got with my boyfriend a few years ago, we decided to completely change our previous traditions. We still do the fireworks and celebrate that way, but on New Year's Day not only do we make our resolutions, but we write these resolutions down multiple times, each with a different quote or encouraging words on them to remotivate us, and place them all over the house in random places but where we know we will look at again eventually. This helps remind us of our resolutions and on each paper we find refires our drive to follow through on those goals.

I like the Victorian cart. Our tradition seems to change every so often...lately, we've been going to friends who live about 2 hrs away and staying overnight.
I like the Victorian Romance that is going to be on the wishlist!! Great week of giveaways, hope your rested after shopping!! Shopping here is almost impossible the whole freeway is closed from a tanker explosion and the last 4 days has been bumper to bumper everywhere!
Have a blessed Christmas!

On New Year's we either go for a walk or snowshoe, then it's a good luck meal of hopp'n john and greens along with pork. All are good luck foods for the New Year! Happy Holidays to you.

My normal New Years Day is celebrated with a traditional Saurekraut and Pork dinner, football games and more family time.
joanvanc@gmail.com
On New Year's Eve the whole family and friends get together at one of my brother's house. He goes out with the decorations (horns, whistles, trompets, ballons etc,) also he has champagne for the grown ups and sparkling apple cider for the kids. The kids think that the cider is champagne and they feel all grown up drinking it. It is about 45 of us in the family plus friends it is a big party.
This is the first year I'm not working on New Year's Day so I guess a new tradition for me will be to celebrate the night before and sleep in on Jan.1!!!
Love the new cartridges. Favorite is the Doodles! Thanks for sharing!
We usually stay home with a nice dinner and relax after celebrating on New Years Eve.
After I had my daughter we would spent the evening up until 12:30 AM with my family and her fathers; then we would go to my aunts house and stay til early morning. My family is in another state now and my Aunt passed away just a few weeks ago. Now I just stay home and watch Christmas specials and the count down, unless I go to visit my family or they come here. Then we spend it celebrating.

We have no traditions for new years. We just enjoy the day and are grateful to be alive!
Honestly, we don't do a lot for New Years. Usually its start taking down Christmas stuff. My mom has been keeping my kids but we rarely go out. My husband and I have become quite boring now that we have 3 kids and are usually in bed by 10! We always wake up at midnight because of our neighbors but we go right back to sleep!
We have family over for games and dinner; and the addition this year of a new grandchild who is due any day now. . . we all stay up together and watch the Ball Drop, sleep in, breakfast brunch, games in the afternoon, dinner together as a family and then a few more games in the evening before everyone disburses to their own homes. . . so much fun and nothing more enjoyable!!!!! I wouldn't trade it for anything in the whole wide world!
judiv1@q.com
We don't really have any traditions. I like it to be a day of relaxing and maybe some goal setting.
When I was a kid we used to almost always make homemade ice cream. Now my husband makes me eat Black Eyed Peas..yuck.
Our tradition is to have a good breakfast all together, watch some Disney movie or cartoon with hot chocolate and go for a long walk!!
Thanks for this chance!! I already follow and I am subscribed!!
For the New Year's Eve, we always get together with our two best friends. the kids play, the adults play games. On New Year's Day I always craft, but the last couple of years, I have started to get all my previous years photos printed and organized in some way so that as I fall further and further behind in my scrapping, at least the photos are printed and organized!
Our tradition is to have a few friends over for a movie. Nice and peaceful.

Our New Year's traditions involve my daughter's birthday celebrations. We have had as simply as the family over to New Year's Eve sleep overs. She always gets a DQ ice-cream cake decorated with snowflakes.
New Year's tradition of my family is to put a coin out for each member of the family on the outside windowsill (we put it on the windows that are inside our fenced in backyard so noone can take them) and this is for good luck as in money for the New Year.

We really don't have any New Year's Day traditions, but since we have been so busy lately, I think we should start one: everyone else does what they want, and I get to scrap allllllllllllll day!
Merry Christmas!
No traditions - pretty boring family. Husband not "in to" any traditions. I usually watch TV by myself until midnight, have a margarita & go to bec. I've enjoyed seeing all the projects so far with the Art Nouveau cart, so I would really love to win it!
New Years Traditions... well I don't have any. One year I was sick, one year was at a wedding. This is my second new years with my husband gone being deployed. I've been to my parents cabin a couple times for the new years. I guess every year has ts own surprise! I guess I like it that way. I always wish I can spend it with my husband, but life doesnt always work that way...
We recently started a new tradition - the last few years a group of us get together and each couple brings the food to prepare one part of the eveings meal (a couple appetizers, main course, dessert, etc). It takes all night as we stop to eat each course...but it has been so much fun.
I don't ever have a New Year's resolution. We are usually asleep long before if we can. The fireworks are so loud until around 3 AM! By then our tired bodies just crash!
Great new cartridges. I guess my tradition would be just staying home and having a very quiet new Year's Eve and day.
Tina

We don't have any specific New Years traditions. I usually start trying to get all the Christmas decorations down and rest.
Our new year's tradition is to pack a suitcase and after midnight go around the block, this will give you lots of travel during the coming year. Oh and eat 12 raisens under the table while making a wish after each one you eat.

My tradition is to bake piggy shaped cookies and give them to our family and friends. Cookies are a lot easier to share than pork roast!
My father's birthday is the 1st, so my favorite New Year's tradition is calling him after midnight and singing him happy birthday. Thanks for all the fun! lclass003atgmaildotcom
We don't really have a New Years Day tradition except that in one way or another there will be a football game my husband needs to watch. We have been making pizza for dinner the last couple of years and that's been fun.
We have blackeyed peas and relax!
We spend the day eating snack food and watching "The Twilight Zone" and football games! Love it!
My new year's tradition is always spend the day with family and enjoy the fresh start.
My husband and I always watch the ball drop together at midnight.
I usually sleep late and then spend some time eating leftovers with my husband, kids, and grandchildren. It is a slow, easy day.

One of our New Year's Traditions is making (and eating) saurkraut balls. They are so good, but take a bit of time to make. Also sausage cheese balls. Yummy!
For us, a big pot of navy bean soup made with the ham left from Christmas. Always with homemade corn bread. This is a tradition I have carried over from my mother and her mother.
