I loved reading yesterday's comments about your favorite holiday traditions. What is it about the holidays that just make the ordinary so extraordinary? For example, one of my favorite traditions is a yummy breakfast casserole that my mom makes every Christmas morning. She only makes it on Christmas because it would just be breakfast otherwise. However, since she only makes this casserole once a year it is deliciously special! I will have to post that recipe sometime.
Today's giveaway is a Snow Day cartridge.
To win:

Hello Courtney!
I love all your ideas they are so inspirational to me!
My favorite holiday dish??? HMMM that is hard to choose...
1. squash
2. cream cheese corn (yummy)!
3. homemade kuchen!
My son always makes our Christmas breakfast treat ~ he uses wonton papers and fills them with a mixture or sausage, onions, peppers, cheese, etc., then bakes them to crisp up. Yummy! We usually also have sweet rolls made with frozen bread dough, brown sugar, butter, vanilla pudding mix, and orange marmalade made in a bundt pan ~ Super Yummy!
Thanks for the chance to win this cartridge ~ I've been looking all over for it, but I can't find it in stores ~ always sold out!!!
About 7 years ago, I began going to the local bakery on Christmas eve and getting their holiday bread for Christmas breakfast. It has become a tradition that we all look forward to.
My favorite Holiday dish has to be my Sweet Potatoe Casserole. Every time I make it is gone is scoop. My kids love it and so do my friends. The other would be my homemade cinnamon rolls. This i make Christmas Morning while the presents are being opened.
A new favorite is a warm crab dip that disappears!!
Also, we have to have green bean casserole and home made noodles! :)

One of the treats we only make at Christmas is fattigmand, a fried cookie! We get together a week or so before the Christmas and make tons of them to share with our friends and family!
My favorite holiday dish is Green Bean Casserole. Iknow, Iknow most people think it's gross but I LOVE it!
Favorite holiday dishes......orange rolls, cheesy augratin potatoes, snowball cookies. YUM! :D
My family loves the Cheesy Potato dish I make (I like it too) and they request it for all our special meals. My other favorite is the sherried egg dish with mushrooms and cheese that I inherited from my Mother in Law. Soooo good!
fresh cranberry relish, whipped potatoes with tons of gravy, there are too many choices here - but so much yummy for Christmas time. thanks for all you share with us.
What a sweet giveaway - and such a sweet and memorable tradition! I have to say I have a sweet tooth, so my favorite holiday dish are all the sweet treats! Especially pumpkin pie!!!

I'm already a follower of your blog. :-) My favorite holiday dish is a casserole we make using wild rice, broccoli, cauliflower, cheese and bacon. Delicious and special because we only have it on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanks for the chance to win another great cartridge.
Homemade cinnamon rolls was always our special dish for Christmas breakfast. My brother's birthday is Christmas Day so this was a double treat. Mom's gone now, but I still make homemade rolls from scratch for my family on Christmas morning. Thanks for stirring these warm memories!
Kathryn
My favorite dishes are of course padaha(traditional Ukranian Christmas dinner), green bean casserole, and deviled eggs! I'm getting so excited for next week Wednesday to make homemade padaha with my aunt and mom. :D
My favorite dishes are desserts! My mom started making chocolate-covered cherries back when I was in college and they've become a holiday staple. The other favorite are Ritz Cracker Treats (you make cracker & peanut butter "sandwiches" then dip the crackers in chocolate) - they're better than the Girl Scout cookies! We only make them at Christmas, so I look forward to them all year!
I love to bake a ham at Christmas and "decorate" it the way my mom did: she covered it with pineapple rings and put a maraschino cherry in the middle of each ring. It looks so festive! And makes me feel my mom is close.
Geesh, I can not even think of a favorite, I love everything about Chrismas...Homemade candies and cookies, home made meat pies, bbig festive meal.....love it all, Merry Christmas.

We always had beef-barley soup with fresh bread for Christmas Eve dinner since we then had a huge Christmas Day feast! The smell of this soup cooking takes me right back to my childhood.
I have to same we have Hashbrown Casserole for every holiday and sometimes in between. Maybe this year I will make an Ice Cream Cake Roll...we have not had that in years (decades?). Thanks!
This year I am making my Mom's tacos for Christmas Eve. Tacos are very ordinary, and yet, now that my Mom is gone, I know they will be special to my Dad. She fried her own shells and made the meat a certain way. Those tacos really are ordinary, but because they're my Mom's recipe, making them our new Christmas Eve tradition will make them extraordinary.
Every year on Christmas Eve my Mom make Tamales. She also makes enough for all of us to take home, yummm!!! Delicious and we all appreciate her hard work every year.

Yummy! Sounds like a wonderful Dish! I make Lasagne as our family dinner every year! Just like you, my mom use to make it for us when we were kids and it was only a special treat! Otherwise it would be just another meal! Sooo instead of turkey or ham I make Lasagne every year for our Christmas dinner! My kids LOVE it and look forward to it every year! :o)
Theresa
One of my favorite dishes for Christmas is called beervicken, it is a pastry that is filled with dried fruit. It is an old family receipe and everyone loves it, but it takes a lot of time to make days if you count all the prep work so we usually only make it once a year. Thanks for the giveaway.
Hmmmm, it has to be the stuffing! We use my mother in laws recipe to make it every year. She passed years ago but every time I make it I feel her right by my side helping out and smiling because she knows how much I hate to cook:) The holidays are truly a labor of love for me! Happy holidays!!!!
We have several:My son makes a breakfast casserole that is to die for. We also have cinnamon buns while the casserole is cooking.
And our favorite is going to my mother's house for homemade italian liasagna and meatballs.
OK, I know this sounds kind of crazy, but one of my favorite holiday dishes is deviled eggs. I make them for my mother-in-laws open house every year and it just wouldn't be Christmas Eve without them! Thanks for the giveway Melanie!
My favorite holiday dish is my sweet potato pie--yummy. I usually make 6 to 8 pies and give them to family and friends for the holidays!! Oh my! That's a hard one! Christmas at my mom's we do different than Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving we have Turkey & Ham and all the trimmings but for Christmas we do snacks, appetizers, and mother cooks a ham to make ham sandwiches. We spend the day and it's all left out to nibble on! So, I guess if I had to pick a favorite it would be her teacake cookies! This is the only time she makes them and they are one of my favorites! Thank you for the chance to win this cartridge! I would love to win! Hugs, Leanne

My hubby's grandmother used to make a breakfast casserole for Christmas morning too - she is now 101 years old and does not do it any more - one of us needs to step up to the plate I think :) So my favorite holiday dish (besides my mother's candy) is probably my MIL's potatoes au' gratin - however that is spelled - she makes it with swiss cheese and lots of cream and it is over the top delicious! Another recipe from her MIL - the 101 year old Nana.

My favorite...green bean cassarole. Can't have Christmas without it. Merry Christmas and thanks for the opportunity to win.

Favorite Holiday Dish is the Campbell's Soup Green Bean Casserole with the french fried onions on top. It is actually my husband's most favorite dish and he only gets it at the holidays and only if my mom makes it (poor guy). Whenever we are getting ready to go to mom's he'll always ask: "Is she making my bean casserole?" It is one of the first things he puts on his plate! Thanks for letting me share "his" favorite dish.
We only have sweet potato casserole for the holidays. It is more like a dessert than a side dish - love the roasted pecans on top! Here in western PA, deer hunting is a big tradition and for opening day I always bake a sausage and egg casserole - just that day and no other. My youngest was old enough to hunt this year and couldn't wait to taste it. Food brings so many great memories to mind.
Cheesy potatoes---my daughter brings them Christmas Eve and also on Christmas Day.
My favorite is definitely my mom's home baked cookies. Especially the ones with chocolate. Thanks for a super prize. Happy Holidays everyone!
Diane

MY mom makes a great cheese ball and spritz cookies! I think that is all I eat during our visit to my moms house for the holidays!!!
I make home made pizza from scratch and that seems to be the favorite of everyone, including me!
My traditional Christmas dessert is White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake. I don't even worry about how many calories it has because I only serve it at Christmas.
Favorite dish huh? Wow, that's a hard one. My sister makes an awesome sweet potato casserole that she refuses to share the recipe for and my mom makes a mean jello salad then my mother in law makes a sinfully fattening squash casserole.....told you it was hard to choose. lol
My Dad always made that Chex Mix snack stuff for Christmas. It never was a favorite of mine but I loved watching him in the kitchen making it because everything had to be just right to meet hue satisfaction. I always Ate a lot of it like everyone else though, simply because Dad made it. What I would give for that Chex Mix now.
My favorite holiday dish is brocolli, cheese and rice because my Grandma always made it. But it has to be made in grandma's special pan. It just doesn't taste the same in a pyrex glass dish for some reason!
It's really hard to pick just one holiday dish. My Mother makes several things that I love. She makes the best mac-n-cheese! She also makes a wonderful fruit salad! And so many more LOL! So it's really hard to say which is my very favorite. If I have to name just one, it would have to be the fruit salad. She actually makes 2 different fruit salads. She calls one of them my fruit salad the other she calls my sisters fruit salad. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy new year!
Our favorite thing is making candy with the grandson. That's the only time we make candy.

For us it is the turkey and stuffing! We only have it at Christmas and Thanksgiving. So for us this is a treat.I get up super early, stuff it, then in then oven and our whole house smells so delicious! My girls wake up to Santa and the wonderful aroma of turkey. Thanks for the chance to win.
My favorite christmas dish is dessert. I make whoopie pies by the dozen and share them wherever I go!!
Wow this is another fun cartridge that I would love to had.
My favorite dish is my Mom's home made Mac and Cheese. It is so rich we only have it at Christmas. Oh and the backed corn. Yummy. Now I am the one who makes it. I miss her very much but I always feel her with me when I am making those dishes.
Thanks for asking.
I have 2 favorites that have to be made every Christmas. First is tourtiere (French Canadian meat pie) for Christmas Eve & second is a dessert made with plum pudding, brandy, vanilla pudding & lots of whipped cream in there too. No calories there! LOL!
My favorite Holiday dish is good ol' turkey! But mainly because I LOVE having turkey sandwiches on fresh white bread in the days that follow!
This year for Thanksgiving, I finally put away the stove top box and made my own dressing. It had cranberry and walnuts inside and quickly became a holiday favorite of mine. But it isn't complete without the gravy and cranberry sauce as well. Thank you for all the winning opportunities!
Although I enjoy EVERYTHING on the holiday table - My grandparents always served pasta & fish with our turkey my very favorite was my Aunt Katherine's cookie. Her platter was always lovely and she would have a plate of cookies for each of us. My Aunt sent the recipes to me once I had my own home. It gives me great joy to bake using them each Christmas.
Homemade peanut butter pie, yum.
Homemade brownies with peppermint ice cream and hot fudge!
my favorite holiday dish is actually the one i make a couple of days after christmas...using the leftover ham and making scalloped potatoes. absolutely my favorite any time of the year! cgreer

Well, I am a junk food junky so my favorite foods for Christmas are sweets! I and my family love the oreo cookie balls that I make! Thanks for all you do for us!
My favorite meal on Christmas is breakfast. We have French toast, with coconut butter, breakfast casserole. Bacon. and the works! Thanks for a chance to win a cartridge. Suanne
My favorite is chocolate almond bars, which is a butter type cookie bar dough, with almonds in it, and dark chocolate drizzled on top, yum!
My favorite holiday dish...hmmm! I think it would have to be the dressing my step-father used to make. It was awesome! I wish I could make my dressing as good as he did!
My favorite holiday dish would have to be any flavor of cake my daughter and son choose to make with their daddy for Jesus' birthday. Instead of cookies for santa, he gets a piece of baby Jesus' birthday cake. My kids are 14 and 19 and it is still a must do for Christmas Eve.
When we moved to Florida, we started inviting neighbors who had no family here for Christmas eve dinner. Because I usually had to work till around 6ish, my hubby decided to make his famous lasagna and it has now become a tradition here every Christmas eve.
Mom's Cherry Dessert! And not just for Christmas,Thanksgiving & Easter too. Since Mom isn't with us any more, one of us always brings the Cherry Dessert. This Christmas it is Paula who will be bringing it.
Has to be the cookies and treats. We don't really have main dish items we make just at holiday time. Breakfast is usually fresh homemade cinn rolls and scrambled eggs
prime rib! It is my favorite Christmas dinner, I look forward to it
My FAVORITE holiday dish is on Christmas eve with my family when we have a totally Italian dinner (7 fish, pasta, tomato pie)! I swear I put on about 20 pounds in 1 night alone! Lol! I follow your blog also!! Thanks for a chance to win!
Every Christmas we start off with holiday drinks and a brie cranberry dish that is to die for. I serve it with fresh fruit slices and water crackers.
Charo-for Christmas Eve 'Nochebuena' dinner I follow the tradition of a potato-parsley salad that goes well with roasted turkey. The recipe comes from my grandmother and includes a hot yellow pepper 'aji amarillo' in my native Peru. I am looking forward to that taste fir this coming December 24.

This is the time of year that my husband will bake chocolate pecan pie for every potluck party -- and he can't figure out why I keep getting us invited places ;) In January it's back to eating sensibly!
