Today I have another bag because it's bag week over here at Courtney Lane Designs ;-) This particular bag I made using the Sophie cartridge (this is a Circle Exclusive) and the Something To Celebrate cartridge.
For those of you who are still worried that the Cricut will not cut fabric very well, have a look at the rose below! Can you believe that that was cut with fabric using my Cricut? The key is the starch. You have got to starch your fabric with In an inch of it's life! Then the fabric is so stiff it almost acts like paper.
I cut the rose out at 8" using Sophie. |
The leaves were cut at 2 1/2"using Sophie. |
The 'D' was cut out using Something to Celebrate at 3". |

Okay, Okay, I'm going to have to try to do a bag with fabric today! I haven't cut fabric in all of the years I've had a Cricut.
Another great bag Melaine! I really need to get some bags ordered! :o)

This bag is adorable!
nice bag. The rose is beautiful. Would you believe the main reason I purchased the Expression was so I could cut appliques for quilting. Great job.
I am really loving the idea of making bags now, hmmmmm. Thanks again for inspiring. So many ideas, so little time.
Your bag looks great!! That flower cut is one of my favorites from that cartridge... so pretty!!

Great idea on the starch. I have a thing for cute tote bags - I'll need to give this a try!
Hey, I forgot to ask... Did you use an iron-on stabilizer to affix it to the bag? Curious minds want to know.
Very cute bag!
Lovely bag. Is there a way we can see the other items that are on Something to Celebrate?
Love the flower. Thanks for sharing the tip for cutting cloth.
Love Love Love this rose. I had not heard about starching the fabric before. Thanks for the tip.
