Christmas bag tutorial using CTMH Art Philosophy

Hello, friends!

Can you believe summer is nearly over? I have to admit I am really happy about that. The heat has been unbearable this year! Unfortunately, living in Dallas means that it will remain warm until November or so. However, any kind of cooler weather would be totally welcome here.

Today's Christmas bag that I made using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge, made me yearn for brisk weather! I know it seems early to be showing Christmas themed projects, but I made this to show you all a few things. First, I wanted to show you the versatility of the bags on this cartridge. Also, I wanted you all to see that the Pair - a - Phrase stamp set has something for every season. If you are interested in this stamp set, I will have information at the end of this post on how to get it for FREE!
I cut this bag using the 'fit to page' feature. This turned out to be about 6 1/2".
All products used in making this bag are from Close To My Heart except for the white pen and adhesive.
The paper I used is called 'Believe'.
This is the cut bag. It is SUPER easy to assemble.
Score the bag using the Score Pal.
I used Terrifically Tacky tape by Provo Craft as my adhesive.
I decided that my bag needed something festive for the front of the bag. The tree was cut out at 2".
The ovals were cut out at 2 1/4".
This is the my assembled motif.
I then adhered it to the bag.
My bag needed a tag, so I chose a tag that had Christmas flair. The other great thing about this tag shape it that there is coordinating chipboard. The chipboard is so great because it gives the tag some heft! I cut the paper pieces at 2 1/2".
I assembled the pieces and then stamped the center using the Pair - A - Phrase stamp set.
It looked a little plan, so I added this gift stamp from the Pair a Phrase stamp set.
It really needed some stitching. I did this use my white Signo Uniball.
Voila! I just added some Cranberry Grograin ribbon and pen work.
Now if you are interested in this fantastic cartridge and/or the current Close To My Heart promotions you have come to the right place!

I love this little bag...I have ordered the cart with all the stamps, but my question is can I make this bag using the Cricut personal cutter? or does it have to be the big one?

I love making these little bags. I make them every Christmas for Jewelry and any little trinket that may fit in the bag. They are so easy to make. Your Christmas bag has put me in the mood to start making mine early this year.

Hi Melanie,
I love your blog and getting your daily posts. I have really enjoyed the posts over the last 2 weeks on this Fabulous Art Philosophy cartridge. And yes the price is steep, but for all you get, it is really worth the price, especially if you order it no with the extras being offered until 08/31. I was lucky enough to get a bonus at work, and this is the one thing I had to have!! So mine is on the way and I cannot wait to start playing. Thank you for all the great projects and tutorials.

Very cute. I am a bit tired of only seeing this cartridge on so many blogs. Everyone must have gotten them free to showcase their very expensive product. I would love to have it but it is way over my budget.
