Decorative box made using the Sophie cartridge

Hello, friends!

Today I have a box that I altered for my sister Dora using the Sophie cartridge.  I thought it would be great to put jewelry or trinkets in. I bought the box at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section. It started out red with a rooster on the side. She is a vegetarian, so I did not think she would appreciate the chicken on the side (that joke is for her...she reads my blog).

I painted the box first using acrylic paint. I believe the shade was called bamboo. Then I added the leaves using modge podge. The layers were done individually and saturated completely with the modge podge, so there would not be any bubbles. The ribbon was added with a hot glue gun.

I cut the leaves out at 5".
The doiley was cut out at 5".
The 'D' was cut using the American Alphabet cartridge at 4".
Thanks so much for stopping by this week! I will see you all back here next week.

So lovely scrapbook layout

Hello, friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My family and I attended a German festival that we attend every year. We had a great time eating strudel, sauerkraut, and sausage! Then we went to IKEA to get a few things to help organize my room better. I sometimes think it would just be easier to buy a bigger house ;-) I will take picture though at some point and show you all how I organize my crafty space.

Now I know I said I would post a bag on Friday made using the new Scandinavian Christmas Cards cartridge. Well, since the ok came through late in the day I decided to go ahead and wait to post it. Then at some point over the weekend, I thought it might be a good idea to post it over on Everyday Cricut. That way you guys do not get too sick of my bags. I just love making them and I hope that some of you might venture into the land of fabric!

The bag is posted today on Everyday Cricut. Click here to check it out ==> Peace bag made using Scandinavian Christmas Card cartridge

Today I have a layout that I made using the American Alphabet cartridge and the Cricut Essentials cartridge which come on the E2 machine.

I used DCWV paper. I cut the FABULOUS border out at 3"
I cut the title out at 1" and placed it on a shape that was cut at 3". The flowers were cut out at 3", 2 1/2", 2", 1 1/2", & 1" then layered to give a 3d effect. The leaves were cut out at 2" and 3".
The journaling box was cut out at 1 3/4" and then stamped using a retired Close To My Heart stamp set. However, the current stamp of the month has a stamp that would give a similar effect.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will see you all back here tomorrow!

Baby bag made using the American Alphabet cartridge

Hello, friends!

This week I have a few bags that I made using the Cricut machine to show you. I remember thinking several months ago that there is no way that fabric would cut very well using the Cricut. However, after hearing Joy rave about her experience I decided to give it a whirl. Since then I cannot stop making bags! For one I love a good bag (what women doesn't?). Secondly, they are super cheap to buy at Hobby Lobby to decorate! When they are on sale they can be about $1.50 per bag.

For those of you who have not ventured into cutting fabric with the Cricut here is a link to a tutorial I did showing you just how easy it is. Click here ==> FABULOUS Cutting Fabric with your Cricut Tutorial

For this bag I used the American Alphabet cartridge that comes installed in the E2.

I cut all of the circles using the American Alphabet cartridge at 3". Then I added the blue ribbon using a hot glue gun (just because I am using fabric does not mean I have made friends with my sewing machine yet ;-))

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back tomorrow with another bag! Also, this Thursday is Hello Thursday, so make sure you come by to see what NEW stuff Provo Craft has up their sleeve!

Have a good day coffee cup card made using the NEW Cricut American Alphabet cartridge.

Hello, friends!

I hope you are all having a great week. My week has been very fruitful and I have gotten so much done that I am actually ahead on school work for once! Can you believe it? This never happens. Not because I am procrastinator, but there is just always too much to do to be a week ahead...especially near the end of the semester.

Today's card is made using the NEW Cricut America Alphabet cartridge that comes pre-programmed in the new E2 Cricut Expression. This cut was definitely one that called to me. I love a good cup of coffee and this cut just says cup of love to me!

I used Close To My Heart paper.
-
I cut the cup of coffee out at 3".
This stamp is from Papertrey ink.
The ribbon is also from PTI.
Thanks so much for stopping by! You guys leave the sweetest comments on here everyday! I feel very loved and I appreciate each and everyone of you! (((hugs)))

I will see you all back here tomorrow!

Have a great Thursday!
