Art Philosophy Bluebonnet card

Today's card is made using the Art Philosophy and 50 States cartridges. Also, it is cut using the Cricut Explore! Isn't the doily fabulous? Well, cutting all those intricate cuts using the new machine is a piece of cake.

This card was made for this week's challenge over on Bitten By the Bug 2. This week, we were asked to make a project using our favorite cartridge. Well, that is a no brainier for me. My favorite cartridge is Art Philosophy! However, I also had to make a Texas themed card for a Close To My Heart event I went to last week. I really wanted something elegant but with some Texas flair. Adding our state flower, the bluebonnet, was the best choice! Fortunately, there is one cartridge that has all of the state flowers and luckily I still have it. I blew the dust off the top and got to work.

Now, since this is made using the Explore, I will not be able to give all of you the files the way I used to. Things work a little differently with the new machine. Instead of a file, I will give you a link. That link will oped up the Design Space with my project loaded. You can then save it for yourself (this is what I recommend) or just hang on to the link. You will have to own both cartridge though to be able to cut it. I believe you will be able to buy the 50 States content digitally if you do not own it already. However, if you do not own Art Philosophy you can buy it from me and then link the cartridge to your design space. I am pretty sure this file cannot be transferred into the Gypsy.

I used one of the NEW embossing folders that CTMH sells called Damask. I forgot to add it to my item list below, so if you are interested click here => Damask Embossing folder

I got a request the other day to show the insides of my cards. Well, I do not do anything to the inside unless it is something I am giving away immediately. Otherwise, I stamp it later. This particular stamp set that I used, was one given to us at the Dallas Close To My Heart convention in 2012. Again, I was going for a Texas theme. I also stamped the envelope with another stamp from this set. It is not available for purchase.

Great card Melanie and glad to see something you created with your Explore. I would love to see you create something on your Explore but I know you are so busy and videos do take a lot of time. Just wanted you to know how much I love what you do and share. YOU ROCK!!

Thanks for a chance for your amazing giveaway!!

The 50 states cartridge is in the craft room. It showed up one day and it has never left and I can cut from it without a problem.

Gorgeous card!! I've ordered the new machine but have my fingers crossed it does not arrive today - it's a snow day for the whole family and I won't have a moment to play with it. We'll see!!

When I updated my Gypsy, I noticed that 50 states was put on it as part of the update. I haven't cut anything from it yet, but I sure hope to soon!

The doily lacey die used & embossing compliment the BlueBonnets wonderfully. I have BlueBonnets growing in my backyard. Bought the BlueBonnets 5+ yrs ago at Home Depot. They have reseeded themselves & I also burst the seed pods to plant. They have come back every yr since and bloom in Spring. They green up in Oct and fortunately they make it thru the Winter. I've also enjoyed seeing the BlueBonnets in Ennis, TX where there are fields of them.

I love the flower and the dainty doily. And the 50 States cart has been a freebe on the CCR for a while. I never thought of doing the flowers with a print. So sweet.

What a pretty card. Art Philosophy is on my wish list. I do have the 50 state and used it for the rose last week. Any state flower would be pretty in your card. Hmmmm what a great idea.

Your card is gorgeous. I love that pretty doily and the design of your card. I got my Expression and Art Philosophy cartridge out right away and cut one of the doilies. Needless to say, my is definitely not as pretty as yours. I was so disappointed but as has been expressed before, the Expression does not cut perfect circles or designs, but I can't afford to invest in the new Explore. :(
