Goodbye Aunt Short!

Monday I received terrible news. Our beloved Aunt Short passed away.

She was my father's favorite aunt. A fiery woman, she grew up on a farm in Durant Oklahoma. She and her husband had a peanut farm in Durant which included a massive pond teaming with fish. Her place was "the" place to go for 4th of July celebrations! We loved her dearly!!

This is the 4th death in my family since November(three of them Great Aunts and one Great-Uncle). This is the most in such a short period of time I have ever had. It is a bit of a realization that things are not static. An entire generation of my family is almost gone(and I am from a VERY large family).

It makes me happy that I am a scrapbooker though. I am preserving those memories of these wonderful people who have passed on. That way they are never forgotten and can live forever in my books.

Here are three sympathy cards I made for her children. They are very simple cards because I worry about going over-board.

All supplies used were from PTI and CTMH.

TFL!!

I am sorry for your loss, Melanie. These cards will bring so much comfort to their children; they are beautiful. And that is so special that you scrapbook and can refer to better times or all kinds of memories of them; suddenly those pages are mean so much more!
