Classic gift bow tutorial using the 3D Bows cartridge.

Hello, friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! I know I did! My husband has been working very late nights as of late, so a four day weekend with him was great!

Well, today I have the 3D Bow tutorial conclusion with the most festive bow of the set! Now this bow can be easily duplicated many times and with a little adhesive popped on the back you'll have yourself some beautiful custom bows!

The bow I will be showing you today is the purple one on the right. I used Close To My Heart cardstock and patterned paper.
I cut the base out at 4".
The shift layer was also cut out at 4".
I adhered the pieces together.
Then took the smallest piece and brought the ends together with a brad. To use the same brad for the entire bow you MUST use a brad with long legs. I could not find one that matched, so I used three different brads and then adhered the pieces together.
After flipping over the cut, I then stuck the brad through the center of the smallest 'x' like shown.
then I brought one of the ends around and put the legs of the brad through hole.
I repeated this process three more times.
This is the end result.
I repeated the process two more times with the other cuts.
Then I adhered the together making sure I staggered them as I stacked them.

Thank so much for stopping by today! I will see you all back here tomorrow with another great project idea!

5 loop bow tutorial using 3d Bows cartridge

Hello, friends!

Today's post is the third 3D Bow tutorial in this week's series using the 3D bow cartridge. It is the 5 loop bow tutorial and is the largest of the 4. This particular bow does require a long brand to hold it all together. Do not try a small brad. It simply will not be able to handle all of the paper. At least the small brads I have didn't.

I had a few questions about the Cricut Craft Room and how it all works. Yes, you have to buy this content online and it goes into your craft room. Provo Craft did a wonderful job of making how to videos using this new system. Make sure you guys check them out. You will be very impressed. There is a blog that is completely dedicated to Cricut Craft Room, so you might want to poke around there and see what information you can find that is helpful. I have heard it is super duper helpful!! Here is the link ==> http://cricutcraftroomblog.blogspot.com/
The yellow bow on the bottom is the one I am showing you today. It is very easy to make and comes out quite large. This bow was cut at the same size as the others and was considerably larger. I used Close to My Heart cardstock and patterned paper.

This is the base cut and cut out at 4".

This is the shift cut and is also cut at 4".
I then glued them all together.
Using the shortest piece, I made a loop and push a brad through the hole to keep it in place.
Then I added the second smallest piece. I drew in each end and added it to the brad.
This is what it looks like when you have completed this step. Do not bend down the legs of the brad yet.
Repeat that step with the largest piece.
This piece is the ribbon tail.
Stick the brad through the center and now you can bend down the legs of the brad.
VOILA!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I will be back tomorrow with a winner for the cartridge and the last tutorial on Friday. I love you all! Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!!

Double loop 3d bow tutorial

Hello, friends!

Today I have another 3D Bow tutorial using the 3D Bows cartridge that is exclusive to the Cricut Craft Room. Now a few people wanted to know if they can transfer this cartridge to their Gypsy. From what I understand that capability will be possible, but the CCR is not quite there yet. However, at some point in the near future it will be. If you guys hear anything different or things change be sure to let me know!

I used Close To My Heart cardstock and patterned paper.
Today's bow tutorial will be the double looped, red one above.

This bow was cut out at 4".
This is the shift cut.
I adhered the two layers together.
Turn over the cut so it is face down. Add a little bit of glue to the end of one of the loops like in the picture above.
Then fold it to the center.
Repeat the process with the opposite corner.
again..
and again.
Then take the center piece and wrap it around the center.
This is what is will look like from behind.
Here is the bow's tail.
Glue it to the backside of the bow.
This is the end result!
Thanks for stopping by. See you guys back here tomorrow with another tutorial!
