Hello, friends!

Sorry this is late going up. I was out with my mother Christmas shopping all day yesterday and did not get home until late.  By then I was too tired to think about posting anything.

Today I am going to post the hello Thursday announcement and then starting on Monday I will post all of the projects I have made using the four cartridges.

Also, I am going to announce my fifth and last giveaway of the week today which is a Art Nouveau cartridge.

My husband and I usually go to a Bed and Breakfast out in a country area to enjoy the quite away from the city, but this year we will be staying home. My husband was diagnoised with brain cancer which is an agressive one. It has effected his right side and he is unable to do the things he used to do. We are praying that the treatments will make the New Year a whole lot better.

We don't have any New Year traditions. My husband is an early to bed, early to rise guy, so he goes to bed way before midnight.

The only tradition we have seems to be to take the tree down.

I really love the Art Nouveau and would be thrilled to win it. Then my New Year resolution could be to make lots of cuts with it!

I would love the Art Philosophy cartridge. My friend has it and lets me use hers but it would be neat to have my own. We don't really have much in the way of a New Year's Day tradition. It's just kind of a lazy day where we get a chance to relax and do what we want or visit my MIL. Since it is on a Sunday this year, we will probably go to the nursing home to visit my husbands aunt too.

Pamela said...

Oops! I read that wrong and you are giving away Art Nouveau, not Art Philosophy! Still looks like a good cartridge though.

Our New Year's day tradition is to stay in our pj's all day, watch the Rose Parade, and then put on movies all day. But this year, the boys will probably stay home, and my daughter & I will head to Disneyland with our passes. Should be a great day.

My New Years Tradition is to celebrate the New Year with a big party with our friends and family. We have lots of food and drinks for everyone.

Love the Art Nouveau!
We don't have a New Year's Day tradition (other than sleeping in, unless it's a Sunday). But we have a group of friends who have been getting together at one family's house for probably the last 10 years on New Year's Eve. We look forward to it all year. Everyone potlucks it, and we bring games, and spend the evening playing games and laughing a lot. Then we usually watch the last 15 minutes of Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year and toast each other with sparkling grape juice. It's one of our favorite holiday traditions!

Ever since I got with my boyfriend a few years ago, we decided to completely change our previous traditions. We still do the fireworks and celebrate that way, but on New Year's Day not only do we make our resolutions, but we write these resolutions down multiple times, each with a different quote or encouraging words on them to remotivate us, and place them all over the house in random places but where we know we will look at again eventually. This helps remind us of our resolutions and on each paper we find refires our drive to follow through on those goals.

On New Year's Eve the whole family and friends get together at one of my brother's house. He goes out with the decorations (horns, whistles, trompets, ballons etc,) also he has champagne for the grown ups and sparkling apple cider for the kids. The kids think that the cider is champagne and they feel all grown up drinking it. It is about 45 of us in the family plus friends it is a big party.

After I had my daughter we would spent the evening up until 12:30 AM with my family and her fathers; then we would go to my aunts house and stay til early morning. My family is in another state now and my Aunt passed away just a few weeks ago. Now I just stay home and watch Christmas specials and the count down, unless I go to visit my family or they come here. Then we spend it celebrating.

We have family over for games and dinner; and the addition this year of a new grandchild who is due any day now. . . we all stay up together and watch the Ball Drop, sleep in, breakfast brunch, games in the afternoon, dinner together as a family and then a few more games in the evening before everyone disburses to their own homes. . . so much fun and nothing more enjoyable!!!!! I wouldn't trade it for anything in the whole wide world!
