Cricut Rose Watercolor card

Hello, friends!

Today, I have something a little different from the usual handmade cards that I make. I did not use a Cricut cut, but did use my Cricut Explore. How in the world is that possible? Let me explain. 

The Cricut Explore has a great pen feature and one of the newer Anna Griffin cartridges (Anna Griffin Garden Cards and Embellishments) has a content that are meant just for the pen feature. I was able to have my machine draw this flower image and then color it in as if it were a stamp!  Pretty cool, right!

I had the machine draw the flower onto watercolor paper. Then, I colored the image with watercolor pencils. This is the first time I have ever done anything like that on this kind of scale, but I had a good time doing it. Also, the Cricut pen used help up nicely with the water.

The sentiment is stamped in Versa Mark and then heat embossed using gold embossing powder. I think the little touch of gold on the outside and inside add just that little bit extra. Easter card mania!

As I have said before I have relatives in the UK(in-laws). Easter is a huge deal in England. I think more so than here. So, I am making cards for them.

I got these really fabulous stamps from Verve yesterday and they really help you to make nice cards!

I used the water coloring technique on these and I think it turned out nicely. That technique has become one of my favorites for sure!!

I made the purple one first and was impressed with myself. That does not usually happen. So I made a pink and chocolate version too. I usually do not make 2 of the same cards. I just liked the layout so much.

Tool Time

I rarely make masculine cards. I wondered why that was. Then I realized it was because I really do not have a lot of masculine stuff. This is a problem because I have 3 brothers and 1 brother- in- law. So this tool stamp set was the answer to my masculine card making prayers.

I also tried a water coloring technique that I have been wanting to try for sometime now. I am REALLY pleased with the results. It is something that I think I will be doing quite a bit now.

All the supplies are SU, except for the brads and ribbon(CTMH and Offray).
