Cricut Artistry donut card

Cricut Artistry donut card
Fancy card Friday
Hello, friends!

Today, I have a card that might make you crave yummy donuts! I love donuts, but do not eat them often. My favorite are maple ones! It is hard to find a good maple donut anymore though. I think that is a good thing!

Not only are they good to eat they are just as cute as can be on craft projects too. This card was made using the Artistry cartridge. I thought I would recreate the look of dry embossing by adding multiples of the cut in the same color as the background. It adds interest and texture with out much effort. Just trim off the bits that go over the edge of the paper.

If you have a Cricut Explore, here is the file: Cricut Artistry donut card

If you do not have an Explore, I cut all of the donuts out at 1 1/2"

Like that the white donut images look like embossing. I like cake donouts, Bav cream & apple fritter.

OMG Melanie Your card is Gorgeous WOW I've never seen this done before...I love it!! You really did come up with an outstanding creative idea....and your donut looks so yummy Gosh i so can't wait to do this and the irony of your whole idea is I'm a huge fan of the Silhouette image *which I use all the time* and this is just like it only in white...gosh who knew....
wait for it.....Melanie did!!
Gosh girl you could be starting a trend here...your idea will be fabulous on a layout too..WOW it totally rocks with your colored image....my favorite donut is Dunkin' donuts French Crueller and I too don't have it often maybe a couple times a year...but what a treat.
Thanks for the file share too.....YOU so ROCK!!

What a great way to show the recipient how they 'stand out' by including all the 'white donuts' that blend into the background and only one donut in color. Most of us would have only put 1 donut on the card .....again showing how 'spot on' you are in designing so professionally!!! And you do this everyday....WOW! Thanks Melanie!

Wanted to share some info in case someone has the issue I had this morn with Cricut Design Space. There was a notice that there was a plug in update. I loaded the update but on my computer I always choose to save and then run/install it not automatically but do so myself. Well, if you have Cricut Design Space running as a task you will get a message indicating to close the task in the toolbar. To do so on my laptop I use keys: and then you can see the tasks running by the task manager. Highlight the Cricut programs and select 'end task' and then you can proceed with plug in run/install. Hope this is helpful to any that need this info.
Also, wanted to ask a question: Is there a way to do a search on project Files created by using a search word?

Thanks, Melissa! Unfortunately, there is not a way to search for projects that have already been created and saved. I have put that through many times as something for Cricut to consider. I will remind them again!

Thanks for the response Melanie. Maybe if we tell them enough times they will finally make the helpful suggestions we ask for. Happy mail came today - my Cricut Artistry cartridge goodies arrived. Yeah! Noticed there is a Cricut Rewards certificate inside. I thought the Cricut Rewards program was no longer in existence. Now to have fun!
