Cricut Firefly card

Cricut Firefly card
Fancy Card Friday

Hello, friends!

Today, I have a firefly jar card made using the Summer Love and Artbooking cartridges. When I was a wee lass I remember catching fireflies all summer long. For whatever reason, I never see them anymore. It is so bizarre!

The sentiment is heat embossed using white embossing powder. Then, I sponged around it with sunset and canary ink. I love the way it has turned out!

If you have a Cricut Explore, here is the file: Cricut Firefly card

If you do not have an Explore, here are the sizes:
Jar (Summer Love): 3 1/2"
Sunrays (Artbooking): 4 1/2"

Your card is so cute I do love this jar of fireflies. Great idea for embossing.
We have lots of fireflies here in MI they are neat and always fun to see them flitting about sorry you don't have them anymore...maybe you need to move to MI *LOL*

Like the Firefly card. Would like to know more about the steps to create this, i.e. how you made the negative cut (if that is what you did or not). I made a birthday card yesterday and used alpha font from Birthday Bash cartridge onto a rectangle from George cart and used the negative cut. Not sure if I did it the same way you did this so would like to find out. We do not see fireflies here in Central TX. Last night we saw 2 planets & a star. Hubby said the brighter planet was possibly Venus and that I could google to find out. Not sure how I would describe other than it was very bright and was in the NE sky.

Melissa, there is nothing fancy with this card. It is not a negative cut, it is just a cut from Artbooking. There are many similar overlays on Artbooking and they are just cut and go.

Thank you. I was not looking at the cartridge booklet. With Design Space one forgets to look at the booklet so I did not scroll thru the selections and just thought negative cut since that was what I did on the birthday card I created yesterday:

Silly me. I knew about the sun rays on Artbooking but completely missed the mention of where the jar w/ fireflies was from and it was because I forgot about the subscribed cartridge Summer Love. Have a nice weekend.
