Art Philosophy Bluebonnet card

I hope you are having a great May so far! I wanted to share my caring bridge account with all of you, so you could get updates on my health if you were interested. That way I don't become the Debbie Downer of the crafty blogger world with sad posts about cancer. ==> Melanie Brown's Caring Bridge site

Also, I wanted to let you all know that it is business as usual here. I am crafting today and will have new stuff up starting tomorrow. Please know that it would take a lot to drag me from this blog, so please make sure you continue to stop by. If you are one of my customers, please don't think that by ordering you are bothering me. I am still in business and am here to help you with all of your crafting supply needs ;-)

Well, it's spring time here in Texas and everywhere you look there are beautiful bluebonnets. I really want to take my son out to sit in them and take his picture. He was not thrilled with the idea, so maybe I will take my dogs instead. Have I ever told you guys how much I love dogs? One of the best things about them how much better behaved they are than my son. How sad is that? Bless his little heart.

Today's card is made using the Art Philosophy and 50 States cartridges. Also, it is cut using the Cricut Explore! Isn't the doily fabulous? Well, cutting all those intricate cuts using the new machine is a piece of cake.

I used one of the NEW embossing folders that CTMH sells called Damask. I forgot to add it to my item list below, so if you are interested click here => Damask Embossing folder

I got a request the other day to show the insides of my cards. Well, I do not do anything to the inside unless it is something I am giving away immediately. Otherwise, I stamp it later. This particular stamp set that I used, was one given to us at the Dallas Close To My Heart convention in 2012. Again, I was going for a Texas theme. I also stamped the envelope with another stamp from this set. It is not available for purchase.

Like your BlueBonnet card. Like BlueBonnets that I have growing & are still in bloom in my backyard. Some are still in bloom & some are starting to form the seed pods. If you ck out my blog today 5/5 you will see a scrapbook layout of my dog Teddy at Easter next to the BlueBonnets in my backyard.

Hi Melanie I'm going to subscribe to updates on your new health blog, it will be good to see how you are going. My Aunt told me on the weekend she has stage 2 breast cancer, I wish there would be a world with no cancer we can keep on hoping but in the meantime keep on fighting! I love your card too the blue bonnets are so pretty : )

I love your card and it is beautiful as usual. I only know you thru this blog, but have signed up for your caring bridge account as I will continue to pray for you. As a cancer survivor I know you can do this. I took it one day at a time and sometimes minute by minute.

I love this card...but I feel like I've seen this one before...is it a popular design or a suggestion in the CTMH idea book?

Melanie I haven't posted as much in the past 1+ years but, you and Joy were the first bloggers I followed when I started crafting and I have always enjoyed your work. You are very talented!! I hated to hear this about your health but, I can tell you, from experience, keep that positive attitude. There will be days that you get down but, you pick yourself up and you move forward and remind yourself that today is today and you are alive so, LIVE! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2012 and spent last year doing chemo and radiation. I lived normally for the most part. I have two kids, 6 & 8. I went to almost every event of theirs and continued to live life. It's not easy all the time but, life is so worth it. I know of a family that the mother was killed in an accident, leaving her husband and 4 kids. She didn't get a chance to fight so, fight we will!!! Stand tall and start each day with a smile!!! You will win this battle!!
