Owl Grown Up layout made using the Cricut IMAGINE

Hello, friends!

Today I have my last Imagine project(at least for several days). I plan on keeping this blog as an expression blog, but will feature the Imagine probably at least once a week. I know that not all of you are purchasing the machine this week, but have plans to do so in the future. As time goes on and more people request projects I will be sure to oblige you!

This layout was the first project I made on my own Imagine as I did not get my ink until Wednesday. However, it did not take very long to make. I think it literally took 30-40 minutes. I put dinner in the oven and through this together. That is one of the best things about this machine. It really cuts down on time the projects take to make.

Almost all supplies are SU! except for the ribbon which is Papertrey Ink.
As luck would have it SU! patterned paper that I had one hand matched these flowers and the owl perfectly. However, I could have used SU! RGB codes to color them to match.

I am currently, working on charts that include SU! and CTMH RGB codes that are similar to my Disney chart. I will have them all downloadable/printable when they are completed. I plan on laminating mine with my Your Story and keeping them close by. The RGB portion of the machine is one of the biggest selling points for me, so I will be using this a lot!!

I hope you all have a great week and don't forget that this Thursday is Hello Thursday. You are not going to want to miss it!!

  2. Beautiful layout :D. I'm one of the people who can't buy the Imagine now, but I sure like learning about it. But even if I had the imagine, I'd still keep my E.I really like my 12 x 24" mats :D. TFS!

  11. What a cute owl on this layout. It has very pretty colours and so far I would have to say that the colour matching feature of the Imagine is what really catches my eye. I am still learning to use my expression and I love paper so I don't forsee getting the Imagine right away, but that one feature makes it much more interesting to me!

  16. Very cute. I saw that Robyn and Tammy had charts on the RBG codes, but when I try to print them out they don't print, I have an older version of Microsoft office (2003) and apparently Tammy has 2007 which mine won't accept. I was able to print out what you had the other day... I would so love your charts when you get them completed. non2 at sbcglobal dot net.

  18. Dear Melanie,
I'm glad to hear you'll be doing more on the regular Cricuts. The new machine is wonderful, but at least for now, so many of us are invested in the other machines. Thanks for recognizing that for us!
Blessings for a wonderful week, Donna

  27. This is a cute layout. It's been very interesting seeing all that can be done with the Imagine. I just wish I could afford one...maybe in the future.

  28. Love the LO, I am a sucker for owls! Boy you must be super busy with the RGB codes!!

  29. Love the layout. Like the idea of being able to print everything but between the cost of the machine and I can only guess how much the ink costs. It seems a little costly. I'll have to make do with hunting for matching papers.

  30. That owl is sooo cute. Great LO Melanie. I agree on the RGB codes...oh my you're putting a lot of work into that document. What a wonderful resource it will be.

  31. Very cute!!! Love the Pun too! Wow Melanie, you are awesome, as I have said I don't believe I will be purchasing this machine any time soon, but all this work with the codes you are doing will be so valuable to the machine's users!

The work that you & the other Crafters working with this machine are doing is incredible, and such a testimony to your fellow crafty inclined! (Did that make sense, LOL)

Thanks again for all you do!

  32. Like Grandma4Five, I'm glad to hear that you are not going to be turning your blog into an Imagine-only place. I expect it to happen on at least one of the other blog spots I frequent, but I have to admit, like others, it's getting a little discouraging to keep logging in every day and seeing nothing but Imagine this or Imagine that, when I have no immediate plans to purchase one of these machines. Thank you for keeping that in mind and catering to all your visitors.

  38. Now that I took the plunge and have my very own Imagine on it's way, I definitely hope you will be doing projects with the Imagine. I am glad that you will still be using the old stuff to thou. So glad the Imagine works with all of those as well. It may be a while before I can afford more carts.
