Today, I have a card that I made using the Cricut Anna Griffin Elegant Embellishments. This is a great cartridge, ladies, but that is not want I wanted to really showcase with this project. What I wanted you all to learn from this post is paper related. To make this card, I used 3 different patterned paper packs. Why is this important? Don't let the fact that paper comes in a pack restrict you from using it with other flattering papers.
How do you do this? Well, I find this easy to do with Close To My Heart because of the set color pallets. They have 48 colors and these colors are mixed in combinations of four. In most paper packs they include monochromatic sheets. These can be used in varying combinations to give you even more options when choosing paper. You can even cross paper themes to make beautiful projects.
For this card I used the Snowhaven paper pack, Seaside paper pack, and Yuletide Carol paper pack. Two of these paper packs are Christmas themed. While one paper pack has a beach feel. This card looks neither Christmasy or beachy. If anything it has a Autumnal feel. Who would have thought, right? Next time you buy multiple paper packs from me, think of all of the possibilities! Did I mention they are only $9.95 and include matching cardstock? *wink*
Here is the file for the card ==>Anna Griffin Medallion card file
I cut out the medallion and adhered all of the pieces together. |
Then stamped (everything is stamped using the same awesome stamp set called Have a Happy Day!) the circle in the middle of the white circle using glacier ink. Then, I stamped the sentiment using chocolate ink. |
Next, I stamped the flower with goldrush ink and leaves with champagne ink on a scratch sheet and cut them out using micro tip scissors and added a gold adhesive gem in the center. |
The inside is also stamped using the same stamp set and goldrush ink. |

Beautiful card! The colours do go together so well and the brown ink works great. I like the rose with it's blinged out center. Anna's cartridge looks like a good one but it's what designer's like you do with the images that makes it shine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great design ideas.
Hope you are having a good week! :)
Elegant indeed with the wonderful layers & colors.
