Decorative box made using the Sophie cartridge

Hello, friends!

Today I have a box that I altered for my sister Dora using the Sophie cartridge.  I thought it would be great to put jewelry or trinkets in. I bought the box at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section. It started out red with a rooster on the side. She is a vegetarian, so I did not think she would appreciate the chicken on the side (that joke is for her...she reads my blog).

I painted the box first using acrylic paint. I believe the shade was called bamboo. Then I added the leaves using modge podge. The layers were done individually and saturated completely with the modge podge, so there would not be any bubbles. The ribbon was added with a hot glue gun.

I cut the leaves out at 5".
The doiley was cut out at 5".
The 'D' was cut using the American Alphabet cartridge at 4".
Thanks so much for stopping by this week! I will see you all back here next week.
