Hello, everyone!
I hope you are all having a great week. I am having a very busy one. I have 2 exams this week at school. One of the classes I am taking this semester is College Algebra. Let me tell you, it is tough going back to college with a 15 year gap. Last semester was not that bad, but this semester I am taking Algebra. That makes all the difference. I really hate math...really really hate it! Good thing my husband has a math degree, my friend Tom has multiple math related degrees, and Joy is an engineer! Thanks goodness for smart friends! This is another good reason to surround yourself with people smarter than you. They can always teach you something.
The card I have for you today is a card that I made using the Labels 9 Nestibilities dies and my copic markers.
After running my nestiblity die through my cuttlebug. I left the die in place on the paper and then used my Copic airbrush system to airbrush the die. The good thing about leaving your die on the paper is it leaves that nice crisp white border around the the edge.

I then stamped and colored with my copics this adorable Unity stamp. Then I cut it out and adhered it to the airbrushed paper. I could have avoided this step if I would have masked the area, but I found it easier to stamp on another sheet of paper and cut it out by hand.

Have a wonderful day!!

Love this card and love the technique of leaving it in the nestibilities die to air brush it. Looks fabulous!
ReplyDeletecongrats on going back to college! I tried but it was just too hard with 3 kids and all my hobbies. :)
Good luck!

Your card is darling, especially the touch with the heart buttons. Keep working toward the degree and just remember a step at a time and you'll get there. I went back to school a few years back and my mantra was..how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Good luck with Algebra!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy too your decision of going back to college. I do too hate math :).
ReplyDeleteThe card is gorgeous as always. Love the technique and the stamps. The heart buttons are so cute and how you lay them out awesome.
Great card! I feel my resistance to coptics fading. I even bought a couple with a coupon at HL. Airbrushing, oh my.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on going back to school. I found I liked math more when I thought of it as a puzzle to solve rather than a chore. Of course, your mileage may vary lol. DD sooo doesn't agree with my logic.
Hi Melanine! I was wondering
ReplyDeletewhat stamp set you used for this
wonderful card. I love tea and
it's a perfect stamp for my
collection.
Thanks

Beautiful card Melanie! I love the air brush technique, very nice. I hear ya on the Algebra thing...it was murder..but funny thing is..my daughter Murray has the math mind, and she is tutoring our next door neighbor who has also returned to school (she is 29). When Murray was younger, she used to point things out to us and say.."it's a patren," LOL, she has always been good at Math.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work, and you will get there. I know it's rough going back after awhile (I was 31), but it is worth it!!!!
*hugs*
