Cricut Artbooking monogram card

Hello, friends!

Before I start talking about today's project I wanted to let you guys know that the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog is doing a design team call.  You have until Sunday, Sept 22 to submit an entry.  All of the details are on the BBTB2 blog.

Ok, now let's talk about today's monogram card. I just love making monogram cards. I guess it is because I like my first first initial. In fact, to see if I check out fonts the first letter I look at is the 'm'. Anyway, this particular card is for one of my team members whose name is Melissa. Double bonus! I made a card for someone and got to use an 'm'! LOVE IT!

This card is made using the Artbooking cartridge and the 'm' monogram stamp. I did a few different things with this card. First I colored the ribbon with a marker again to get the color I wanted (this takes seconds to do by the way!). Next, I heat embossed the stamped image using a yellow opaque embossing powder. Heat embossing is one of my favorite things to do!

*TIP: Before you heat emboss wipe down the paper with a dryer sheet. If you do this, you will not have wayward embossing powder particles where you do not want it. Works everytime!

I used Smoothie, Lagoon, and White Daisy CTMH cardstock. The patterned paper is from the Babycakes paper pack.

  2. What a classy card. The first card I ever made with my Cricut was a monogram card, but it wasn't anything like this. I can see myself making these for friends and family. The doily cut adds that special feminine tough. Thanks for sharing.
